Cottage Description
Marilyn Monroe and JFK, their documented stay, was highlighted by the visit to two cottages side by side and that is cottage 2 and 3. Marilyn was reported to be in our cottage 2, here, then with the arrival of JFK and the black Presidential Limmo at Mikes Place Bar, Marilyn stayed in cottage 2 with both taking over cottage 3. The side by side cottages allowed for an appearance, we think, of care for public perception. Marilyn visited many times during her week Mike’s Place Bar. Mike’s Place is the affectionate term for Cottage 2. Mike Padula the Castella Millionaire and close friend to the owner’s heritage of Castle Stone Inn. Ornate wall paper, lovely bath, wood pation deck…it is no wonder that Robin Williams (rest in peace) called this his “secret heaven”. Dean Martin would often venture over from the Rat Pack’s stay in cottages 4 and 5 to find privacy in Cottage 2 – Mike’s Place. The cottage housed the famous 2 weeks stay of Robin Williams in preparation for his film Night At The Museum. A fully furnished nest of antiques and quiet.
